Pageant Rules

1. Candidates must be single and never have been married, divorced or had a marriage annulled. It must be understood that contestants cannot have had a child.
2. A candidate must be a minimum of 16 years of age and not have achieved her 22nd birthday by January 1, 2012.
3. Candidates must be an Iroquois County resident or have attended an Iroquois County school.
4. Candidates will be judged as follows: Personal Interview 40%, Speech and Communication Skills 25%, Stage Presence (in Evening Gown) 20%, and Beauty of Face and Physical condition (in Swimsuit) 15%. No talent performance is required for this contest although the contestants will give a one minute speech.
5. No Preliminary contest will be held unless deemed necessary by the Pageant Committee of this contest. In case of a preliminary contest, all contestants will be notified.
6. Contestant agrees, if chosen Queen, to participate in public relations for the Fair, Pageant, and county by appearing at other county fairs, in parades, and at other events suggested by the Pageant Director.
7. Contestant, if chosen Queen, is required to attend County Fair Day at the Illinois State Fair in August 2010. She will also be required to compete at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Queen Pageant in January 2012, and must be available from the Friday preceding the competition to the Tuesday following the contest. She will abide by the rules and regulations of the IAAF Queen Pageant and will compete with the utmost sportsmanship.
8. Contestant, if chosen Queen, agrees to prepare for the state competition exclusively with the Pageant Director and/or Committee, or other person they deem fit.
9. Contestants must understand that by competing in the pageant they are freely agreeing to the conditions set forth in the Official Entry Blank and will abide by them if named Miss Iroquois County Fair Queen
2011. If at any time she is unable to fulfill her obligations as the reigning queen, she will relinquish her title, crown, cash awards, and any prizes awarded to her. The Executive Committee of the Iroquois County Fair Association and the Pageant Director have the right of recall should any improprieties or negative circumstances occur. Conviction of any felony other than a minor traffic offense shall be cause for recall. Any Queen recalled will be succeeded by the next eligible runner-up.
10. Candidates who are under age 18 must have parent's/legal guardians' written consent.
